Focus Group Discussion
Focus group discussion is a form of qualitative research aimed at learning about user´s opinions of a certain website or application. In the interactive group discussion, participants share their thoughts on various aspects of a specific site, which provides valuable insights and information on how the presentation will fare with real users.
How does focus group discussion work?
Focus groups are used mainly for getting suggestions in early phases of site development, while specifying neccessary functions and content requirements. As opposed to common user testing, it is not used for site usability evaluation, but for getting to know the opinions of its potential users.
Group discussions usually focus primarily on site design, graphics and layout. The essential part is getting feedback from the desired target group members. This allows us to estimate how the presentation is going to be percieved and what is necessary to change in order to make it attractive and efficient.
